Fred moved to the Charleston area over 30 years ago, having grown up in Charlotte, NC where he attended Myers Park High School and received his BS in Applied Mathematics from N.C. State University. Once in Charleston, he worked in medical equipment sales and then started a home medical equipment rental business. Fred first renovated a historic home in Summerville, SC, and then restored a home on the Isle of Palms before building a new home on Sullivan’s Island. After an extensive renovation of a home in downtown Charleston, he and his wife, Ann, began accumulating a real estate portfolio which includes buildings on upper King Street, apartments in the city, and commercial property on Johns Island and upper Meeting Street. He and his wife built a second home on Wadmalaw Island that was featured in Charleston Magazine and Better Homes & Gardens in 2006. Fred is familiar with Section 1031 property exchanges, historic tax credits, commercial and residential leases, zoning regulations, and how to navigate the processes of zoning changes and Board of Architectural Review. When not working, Fred enjoys designing and making furniture, renovation projects, collecting wine, and serving St. Michael’s Church. Ask Fred about your real estate needs whether they are residential, commercial, land or vacation properties.
